How to Talk to Your Teacher

Do’s and Don’ts

So you have questions.  The teacher seems to have some of the answers.  Here how to talk, and how not to talk, to them.

1.     Do say hello.  If it is your first time in class with a new teacher smile and say hello.

2.     Don’t bombard the teacher.  Allow the teacher to settle and start the class.  Just because you are present and waiting doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to start firing off questions.

3.    Do keep it simple. Most teachers prefer that you talk to them before or after class.  Keep your question simple.

4.     Don’t tell the teacher your whole life story.  Remember, the teacher is there to teach yoga class and not to make new friends.
