Ask the Yoga Teacher
My hands and feet are always cold!
Answered by Baron Baptiste, creator of Power Vinyasa Yoga.
My hands and feet are always cold. Are there any poses that can help me warm them up?
Absolutely. Cold hands and feet are most often caused by poor circulation or stress. Inverted poses such as Downward Facing Dog, Bridge, Plow, and Legs-up-the-wall pose simultaneously relax the body and improve circulation by dilating blood vessels, so blood can flow more easily to your extremities. To really feel the heat, take full, even breaths as you hold each pose for up to a minute.
