Did Yoga stir up my old back injury?

I have scoliosis and an old compression fracture.  I loved doing yoga for the last couple months, sometimes my back felt better, sometimes it felt worse after yoga.  I had a terrible bout with sciatica, which hasn't happened in 2 years; did yoga do that?

It’s hard to tell what can stir up old injuries. Sometimes re-finding our healthy alignment seems to make things worse for a time. Because of your complex history, you need an experienced eye on your poses. I suggest a few private lessons with an experienced teacher so you two can create a series that especially honors your specific needs.
After practicing this series for a month or so, try going back to a general class with this new awareness of your body.
