While you might not be gifted with the supernatural powers seen on Heroes, women have their own version of superhero strength, such as tackling to do lists longer than the Great Wall of China without batting an eye. All the more reason why you need to give yourself a time out to recharge your battery so you can take on the world again.
That is where yoga comes in. The practice brings the body into balance by strengthening weak muscles and stretching tight ones to keep you injury- and pain-free, notes Vanessa Lee, an instructor at At One Yoga in Phoenix, Arizona. Of course there is another little benefit we like to call calm. Deep breathing relaxes your nervous system while the poses and alignment serve to dissolve physical tension.
Practice these 10 poses in this order at least three times a week. Or choose two favorites and do them when you can to undo common kinks and hit your refresh button.
