Top 5 Yoga Pants
Dec 4, 2007
Before you can name your favorite yoga pants you need some in-class
trial and error (will my undies--or worse--peek out when I’m in fan
pose?). Here are our top 5 yoga pants, great for class but also worthy
of being lived in.
Any shape, any time, anywhere
From the V-cut waistband (so it won’t pinch an extra inch) to the intentionally stretchy, yet slimming fabric, these Stonewear pants ($56) should be on everyone’s go-to list. With three different pant lengths, 6 sizes, and three easy, basic colors (black, grey, and purple), they flatter every shape and size. We’re told women wear them pre and post-partum. Plus, they even come doctor-recommended for post-surgery wear.
Bottom Covering
Extra coverage for the tush and thighs is a win-win no matter what shape you are currently in. With an attached skirt, we don’t have to wear an old, stretched-out T-shirt past our bum because the Sense Tunic Pant ($110) gives full tail coverage with flair.
Slimming Pants for Bikram or Hot Yoga
For those of us who
don’t want to over-expose ourselves in yoga booty shorts but also avoid
heavy, clingy pants like the plague, these Be Present crops ($49) use
light Breathe Weave fabric that’s guaranteed to keep you dry through
those 26 poses. So go ahead, sweat, no one will be able to tell.
Limb Lengthening
Yoga’s your calling card and you want to
be stylish (and a tiny bit practical). For inversions, these Foat
Jodhpur pants ($78) gather below the knee and stay cuffed to the ankle.
No indecent exposure here.
Baggy but Won’t Appear Bigger
These velour pants from Sweet Skins ($65) are hemp-blend organic pockets of plush.
A welcome change from the claustrophobic leggings that over-amplify
assets, they’re tailor-made for those of you who like a wide leg. And
even though these are roomy, they won’t make you look schlumpy.
